The European Standard EN1317-3 is approved by the Committee European de
Normalization (CEN), Europe’s committee of standardization which includes the
following nations: UK, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France,
Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway,
Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, etc.

The Shindo CEN System is designed to protect motorists in vehicles from 900 kg to 1500 kg from roadside hazards.
The Shindo CEN System, has been tested in Europe as a redirective crash cushion to the maximum 100 km/h using 1317-3 criteria. To fully comply with the definition of a System Type tested crash cushion, the Shindo CEN has been further tested at 110 km/h, 80 km/h, and 50 km/h.
