Asia’s first company to get CE Mark Certification for Its Crash Cushions
Shindo Industry (represented by CEO Hwang Yong-soon) has become Asia’s first to obtain CE Mark approval for a series of its independently developed cushion tank systems: EU-CCS110, EU-CCS100, EU-CCS80 and EU-CCS50.
Before getting the CE certification, the company’s cushion tank systems met the acceptance criteria of the Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs and passed the Chinese Ministry of Transport’s standard test and the European Standard EN1317-3 crash cushion test.
The crash cushion is a road safety product that enables a vehicle running off its lane while, it absorbs impact energy and stops before crashing into a structure on the road or allows the vehicle to return to the lane by correcting its direction. This product helps minimize casualties from fatal accidents when installed on expressways, highway junctions, motor roads or center bus lanes.
Shindo Industry’s crash cushions are designed to go in on a step-by-step basis at the time of crash and thus the vehicles are allowed to stop or return to their proper lanes.
The simple structures of their components make it easy to install and maintain the cushion tank systems. Further, their components and parts are recyclable and thus environmentally-friendly and adopted a new technology with a highly-stable metallocene PE tank used.
